Drug Resistant Bacteria and a possible “Silver” lining

Drug Resistant Bacteria and a possible “Silver” lining.

It pretty bad that a Facebook post leads to a news letter

Last November 5th I posted this little thing on FB

“A good part of the modern medicine is built on foundation of herbal healers. even as late as a century ago, our understanding of the body was limited. We were barely dragging back the ignorance of spirits and humors. and Today instead of praying and hoping for a cure, we have the science of the body and of what the plants are and can do. There is a place for both kinds. But with the over use in our food animals and over use by our doctors, at our parents and grandparents insistence, we are entering a dark time in modern medicine. The antibiotics of the mid 20th century are failing. Perhaps it is time for the plants that have been laughed at by modern medicine to re surge and possibly help us from this mess we have made”

That came on up me “You have memories thingy that FB posts to remind you oif what crap you shared on this date etc etc.
But it made me think of just what we have lost.

Today I wrote this little thing in reply to myself
I wrote this last year. And believe it even more. We are in an crisis. Our leadership is pounding on his desk like Nikita Khrushchev yelling that we are in an opioid epidemic. What some poor mom runs in to an ER screaming her son is sick and caught him a case of the opioids?
Bullshit.”
The current generation of antibiotics are working less and less. At first it was MRSA And VRE.
Now there are DOZENS of threats to us.
Here is a short list.
Clostridium Difficile (CDIFF)
Carbapenem-Resistant Enterobacteriaceae (CRE)
Neisseria gonorrhoeae
Multidrug-Resistant Acinetobacter
Drug-Resistant Campylobacter
Fluconazole-Resistant Candida
Extended Spectrum Enterobacteriaceae (ESBL)
Vancomycin-Resistant Enterococcus (VRE)
Multidrug-Resistant Pseudomonas Aeruginosa
Drug-Resistant Non-Typhoidal Salmonella
Drug-Resistant Salmonella Serotype Typhi
Drug-Resistant Shigella
Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus (MRSA)
Drug-Resistant Streptococcus Pneumoniae
Drug-Resistant Tuberculosis
Vancomycin-Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus
Erythromycin-Resistant Group A Streptococcus
Clindamycin-Resistant Group B Streptococcus

Feel all warm and fuzzy yet? Screw the Opioid Epidemic. Human kind is in a battle for its very existence. A war we and our parents and for some grandparents started. And we helped a lot out selves. Question. Who here has “left over” antibiotics in the medicine cabinets? You are part of the war. Who has DEMANDED their doctor give little Johnnie  SOMETHING for his stuffed nose and sore throat? And the doctor gave some amoxicillin just to shut you up? He or She is part of the problem.

We are 10 to 25 years away from the next generation of antibiotics. And by pouring needed money into the opioid epidemic takes money from the research that may save us as a species.
Overly dramatic? Maybe.
Lessor things have caused extinctions on this little ball of mud.”

And I’ve been thinking about that all day. Well between taking a walk around Campbell creek here in Anchorage helping the people I am living with to shovel the driveway and other things.
This whole thing started last year because of a thought on a discsioon about plant based medicine and the how an new resistant bug had made its debut.
A few years before and my friend Cat Ellis The Herbal Prepper were talking about Polymyxin B and Colistin resistant E-coli. Polymyxin is an antibiotic that is a little, well its toxic to humans. I’ve used it for years as a wound flush for pacemaker implants.

But this little news letter is not to, well bluntly, “bitch” about the stupidity of certain doctors parents and hell well people. This is to start a discussion on what we can do NOW. One thing that Scientific American published and Cat and I did a Medic Shack Episode on was adding Colloidal Silver to standard antibiotics and it revived them Silver Makes Antibiotics Thousands of Times More Effective

As far back as 2008 researchers in India found that copper and silver nano particles killed resistant bacteria. And they began to add silver to their antibiotics. India was a hot bed for drug resistant bacteria. Adding silver to them bought them a lot of time.

So does that mean the CS ( Colloidal Silver) is the “magic bullet” to end all antibiotic worries? Yes and no. CS used correctly and made correctly is as safe as most other medicines. Taken incorrectly and made wrong its can and has been fatal at worse, to a mild stomach ache. Most of the time you get turned blue. (Violet you’re turning VIOLET!)

Silver is an OLD drug. Hippocrates first described its antimicrobial properties in 400 bc. I’ve used in 2009 to protect my family from the Swine Flu outbreak. One of my dearest and best friends, Cope Reynolds of Southwest Shooting Authority is religious in his use of silver. And it shows in his and his families over all health.

I know others that use silver with the same frequency as Cope and are plagued by stomach issues. Silver made incorrectly will at the least attack the native flora in your gut, turn you purple or even kill you. The biggest issues is that the reaction in making it doesn’t start right away. And folks add salt to it. Or I’ve seen on line that CS was made with “Dead Sea Salt” to infuse the power of the holy land. Silver Ormus. Just going to drop that there.

When you combine Silver, a very reactive ion with a chlorine ion they will combine. And what comes out is Silver Chloride. It was used in black and white film. When exposed to sunlight it turns a greyish blue. In people the diagnosis is Argyria. While in itself not fatal, it will get you a guest spot on Oprah. And its forever. And gives the use of silver a bad name. Silver is very safe made correctly. And the best place to get you a generator and the instructions to make it safely is from Cope at SWSA.

CS already made will not turn you blue. Yes the body is made from salt water. By adding it to your body the chemical reaction will not happen. Silver Chloride is made by passing an electrical charge though the silver into the salt water. Oh here is my page on Making CS.

Silver and herbs. In the field I keep a Walmart eye wash bottle with me. Now its painted black and instead of saline it contains CS. I use this to make my herbal wound washes, and I use it to make herbal antimicrobial teas. The same process that silver “re-energises” antibiotics works the same way with herbals.

At a class I was teaching at Shots Ranch a few years ago, I noticed a lady in the class that was limping and had a bandage on her foot. After my wife and I gained her trust we checked her wound and found that she had gangrene. We tried to get her to go to the hospital but she refused. She already had the diagnosis from her doctor. I made her a wash that was a tisane of herbs that were then filtered and added to an equal amount of CS and flushed her foot twice a day. She would not take the CS orally. She was “afraid” of turning blue.

By the end of then 4th day course her foot wound was granulating (New tissues forming) and the swelling was gone from her leg. I did make her promise to go to the doctor as soon as she left the ranch. Here is her video Gangrene healing.

I give all oral antibiotics with a shot glass (1 ounce) of CS in a glass of water. IV antibiotics, well lets say I follow the manufacturers instructions on re-hydrating them. More or less.

I do not recommend taking it prophetically, every day like a vitamin. My thought is its medicine. Not a supplement. Most people do not take Tylenol every day just to prevent a headache. Now my friend Cope takes an ounce every morning. And he is about the most over all healthy person I know. So YMMV. Also, now this is just me. But I would never buy CS from an online store, health food store herb shop etc. CS has a very finite lifespan. And it’s very sensitive to light. Now the only person I would buy CS from would be Cope. But its SO simple to make for the cost of a 4 ounce bottle you can make gallons of it.
CS may be the Silver bullet we need for antibiotics PSHTF. Made correctly its been shown to be safe. Taken correctly its been shown to be safe. But also take the responsibility and LEARN as much as you can about it. And take charge of your families health.
