The Wilderness First Aid (WFA) course is designed to help you prepare for what emergency that may lurk around the next bend in the trail or behind that boulder. Accidents happen in the woods. People get sick. The weather changes and the temperature drops. Most emergencies in the field are preventable. Even then, Mr Murphy steps in and adds his brand of trouble. Will you be ready?

The WFA class is to introduce you to the skills you need to care for those emergencies far from the nearest definitive care. The class is a mixture of lecture, hands on and outdoor training. Ok it’s not really tactical but it is the perfect addition to your kit. The one pictured is my personal one. They are @ 18″by 12″ and are filled with flax seed. Flax seed is far superior to the rice filled ones you see at the mall. My wife hand makes each one. This takes about 5 business days to complete one before it is shipped. These are made from durable 12 oz denim and each one is dyed the ordered color. The herbs added are Lavender, Eucalyptus, Chamomile and Peppermint. Unscented is also available.

They are heated in the microwave. Start at 2 minutes and adjust up or down. They can be misted with water for moist heat. Just be sure to dry completely before storing. I take mine camping and heat it in a dutch oven NOT DIRECTLY ON THE COALS. Heat the oven first then add the hot pack. I have added one or two coals to the lid of the dutch oven
