The Medic Shack Herbal First Aid Course
November  7th and 8th 2015 Albuquerque NM

 

The Medic Shack is pleased to offer our first Herbal First Aid course here in the Albuquerque Area. This class is NOT a full on Herbal Medicine course. This course is designed to work hand in hand with our basic first aid course by adding in herbal knowledge and techniques to fully round out your basic first aid knowledge.

And also to make sure you have what is needed to treat a patient no matter what happens.

This is a 2 day course of intensive training

Day 1. Herbal First Aid. This is where we add the knowledge of herbs to that of first aid. We will discuss the differences between the herbal medicine of the 17th and 21st century

• Tincture, Oils, Teas and Colloidal silver

• Pain relief

• Controling and prevention of infection

• Controling bleeding

• Skin irritations/Burns

• Respiratory

And much much more

Day 2 The Medic Shack Comprehensive Basic First Aid course. This is NOT the Red Cross style course. Here you LEARN first Aid. Not how to put on a band aide.

• Heat and cold Related Emergencies

• Hypothermia

• Burns • Bone and Joint Injuries

• Wounds and Wound Infection

• Controlling bleeding: Pressure Points, Direct Pressure, Chemical and  tourniquet

• Splinting • Shock Treatment

• Cleaning of wounds (How to do a sterile job in the field)

We try to keep the cost as low as possible. We like everyone knows times are hard. But training is needed. There may be the day when Walgreens isnt there and you need an antibiotic. Hell here in Albuquerque a 1 day IV class is 250.

It is very difficult to learn by not actually doing the task but I will make allowances and have alternative training methods on hand.

If any member of the class has a “communicable” blood born condition does not need to advertise the fact, but I do request that full safety precautions be used.
